DoneThere is built to work fully offline, and that shapes this policy: there isn't much to say, because we don't collect anything that identifies you.
DoneThere has no account creation and no sign-in. The app sends anonymous usage and interaction data to help us understand how the app is used — this carries no name, email, device advertising ID, or IP-derived location, just a randomly generated ID with no connection to your identity. That ID persists across app sessions (and, on iOS, can survive reinstalling the app) so that if you ever contact support, we may be able to look up your usage history to help you — we have no way to connect it back to who you are unless you tell us. If you're offline, nothing is sent. If you unlock cities via purchase, our payment processor handles that transaction and the technical data needed to verify and restore it. Optional email signup for product updates is the only other network request the app makes when you choose to leave an address.
Your checklist progress (which items you've marked done, which cities you've opened) is saved locally on your device, using standard on-device storage — uninstalling the app deletes it permanently. Each time you check an item, that action is also included in the anonymous usage data described above, so we can help you pick up where you left off if you ever reach out after losing your progress.
After you've started a few cities, the app may show a one-time, dismissible prompt asking if you'd like occasional emails about new cities or features (at most monthly). If you enter your email, it's stored only to send those updates — nothing else is attached to it, and it's never shared or sold. Skipping the prompt or never entering an email means nothing is collected.
Tapping this opens your device's own email app with a pre-filled draft addressed to hello@donethere.app. DoneThere itself does not send, receive, or log anything through this feature — it's just a shortcut to your own mail client. Whether the email is actually sent is entirely up to you.
We use a payment processor for in-app purchases (App Store and Google Play), an analytics processor for the anonymous usage data described above, and our own email signup endpoint when you choose to leave an address. This website (donethere.app) separately uses a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics script to see aggregate page visits — again, no personal data, no cross-site tracking. No advertising networks, no data brokers.
Since no personal data is collected from anyone, this includes children.
If this ever changes (for example, if a future version adds an optional online feature), this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change.
